1. Proposed Activity – Extraction of sand and gravel at the prospective “Jaunjurģeļi” sand and sand-gravel deposit.
2. Location of the Proposed Activity – The “Jaunjurģeļi” property, Smārde Parish, Tukums Municipality, Cadastral No. 90820120016, comprising land units with cadastral designations 90820120016 and 90820120069.
3. Project Proponent – SIA “DVL”, Registration No. 40003579272, registered address: Vecupes iela 3, Engure, Engure Parish, Tukums Municipality, Latvia.
4. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure was initiated by Decision No. KU21SI0089 of the Kurzeme Regional Environmental Board of the State Environmental Service, dated October 11, 2021.
5. Description of the Proposed Activity – The deposit covers an area of approximately 11.96 hectares. Mineral resources are planned to be extracted using an excavator and a front-end loader. The extracted material will be transported by trucks along the municipal road located to the east of the deposit.
6. Public Consultation Procedure – In accordance with the Law on the Management of the Spread of COVID-19 Infection, the public consultation will be conducted remotely from November 23 to December 14, 2021.
