Notice of Initial Public Consultation on the “Lielie Grantnieki” Deposit

NOTICE

of Initial Public Consultation on the Proposed Activity

1. Proposed Activity – Extraction of sand and gravel at the “Lielie Grantnieki” deposit in Kazdanga Parish, Aizpute Municipality.
2. Location of the Proposed Activity – The “Lielie Grantnieki” deposit, located on the “Lielie Grantnieki” property, Kazdanga Parish, Aizpute Municipality, Cadastral No. 64680080044 (land unit with cadastral designation 64680080016).
3. Project Proponent – SIA “BRL”, Registration No. 52103047211, registered address: Tirgoņu iela 22-7N, Liepāja, LV-3401, Latvia.
4. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure was initiated by Decision No. LI19SI0021 of the Liepāja Regional Environmental Board of the State Environmental Service, dated February 28, 2019.
5. Description of the Proposed Activity – The deposit covers an area of approximately 2.879 hectares. Mineral resources are planned to be extracted using an excavator and a front-end loader. The extracted material will be transported by trucks along the local road located to the west of the deposit.

The greatest impact is expected on neighboring properties in the immediate vicinity of the deposit and along the mineral resource transportation route.

• The initial public consultation meeting will be held at Kazdanga Community Centre, Pils gatve 2, Kazdanga, Aizpute Municipality, on November 19, 2019, at 5:00 PM.
