Notice of Submission of the EIA Report to the State Environmental Monitoring Bureau for Review and Opinion

1. Proposed Activity – Extraction of sand and gravel at the prospective “Jaunjurģeļi” sand and sand-gravel deposit.
2. Location of the Proposed Activity – Property “Jaunjurģeļi”, Smārde Parish, Tukums Municipality, Latvia, Cadastral No. 90820120016, comprising land units with cadastral designations 90820120016 and 90820120069.
3. Project Proponent – SIA “DVL”, Registration No. 40003579272, registered address: Vecupes iela 3, Engure, Engure Parish, Tukums Municipality, Latvia.
4. Report Prepared by – SIA “Ģeo Eko Risinājumi”, Registration No. 40103207530, registered address: Ēveles iela 14 k-1–2, Riga, LV-1013, Latvia.
5. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure was initiated by Decision No. KU21SI0089 of the Kurzeme Regional Environmental Board of the State Environmental Service, dated October 11, 2021.
6. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report entitled “Extraction of Sand and Gravel at the Prospective ‘Jaunjurģeļi’ Sand and Sand-Gravel Deposit” was prepared in February 2023 and submitted for public consultation. Following the public consultation, the report was updated and submitted to the State Environmental Monitoring Bureau on March 30, 2023.
