NOTICE

of Initial Public Consultation on the Proposed Activity

1. Proposed Activity – Extraction of sand and gravel, and sand at the “Vidus Mālnieki” section of the “Puškini” deposit.
2. Location of the Proposed Activity – Land unit of the “Vidus Mālnieki” property with cadastral designation 42460020297 and land unit of the “Jelinskas” property with cadastral designation 42460020406, located in Drabeši Parish, Cēsis Municipality, Latvia.
3. Project Proponent – SIA “FONO”, Registration No. 44103052187, registered address: Rīgas iela 47–1, Cēsis, Cēsis Municipality, Latvia.
4. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure was initiated by Decision No. VI21SI0064 of the Vidzeme Regional Environmental Board of the State Environmental Service, dated June 10, 2021.
5. Description of the Proposed Activity – The “Vidus Mālnieki” section of the “Puškini” deposit covers approximately 6.942 hectares, while the area of mineral reserves explored in 1953 within the “Jelinskas” land unit (cadastral designation 42460020406) is approximately 0.50 hectares. The total area is approximately 6.992 hectares.
6.  Mineral resources are planned to be extracted using an excavator and a front-end loader. The extracted material will be transported by trucks towards the P20 road via the existing “Uplandi” deposit.
7. Public Consultation Procedure – In accordance with the Law on the Management of the Spread of COVID-19 Infection, the public consultation will be conducted remotely from July 1 to August 1, 2022. 8. The initial public consultation meeting will be held remotely online on July 11, 2022, at 5:30 PM. Information on how to join the online meeting will be published on the website: www.geoeko.lv/#aktuali and the Cēsis Municipality website before the meeting.
